Jae Mara Reynolds was born in Anchorage, Alaska. Her father Guy Reynolds, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force, was stationed at Elmendorf Air Base. Guy met his wife Nari while stationed in Osan Air Force base in Korea. There, he met and married Nari Hwan Jung. Nari was Korean and African American.

Jae and her brother Tucker stood out from the other children in Alaska. As a little girl, Jae enjoyed snow and rides on snowmobiles. Life on a military base had many distractions for a five-year-old girl. Jae’s older brother also took to the Alaska outdoors lifestyle.

When Jae was six years old, the family moved to Orange County, California. Guy had been  stationed at El Segundo AFB. Jae became a true California girl. Going to the beach with her friends, flirting with boys. Nari and Guy noticed that Jae had an eye for art. As a young teen she won several art awards. Her parents were determined to get Jae into the Orange County School of Arts. There, she was exposed to music, theatre, media arts and even culinary skills.

After high school, Jae applied to the art program at UCLA with a major in art business and a minor in art history. Her desire was to work in an Art Gallery somewhere in Los Angeles. Jae graduated with a BA in Art History, and started working on her Master’s Degree in art history and business.

While studying for her Master’s Jae attended an opening at a new art gallery in Hollywood. A handsome man with long curly hair approached her. It was Rio Ricci-Poole from Perfection.

Rio was entranced by her beauty and her love of art. The two discussed certain artists and art styles. Jae was interested in how he knew so much about art. Rio told her his mother exposed him to art when he was growing up.

Rio asked her out on a date. Jae hesitated. She had heard the stories about Rio Poole. He was a player on the Sunset Boulevard party scene. Lots of rumors. But, she gave him a chance.

Rio knew Jae would be the one. Jae fell equally hard for Rio.

Jae tried to continue with her Master’s at Antioch College when the band moved to Montecito. Perfection started a heavy tour schedule Rio always had Jae accompany him on tour. Jae put her passion for a Master’s on hold. Being with Rio was more important than finishing her degree.

After a few years, Rio proposed to Jae. Marriage was the next step in their loving relationship. During that time Jae and Gina’s relationship becomes a vital lifeline for Gina McNaughton.
