As we welcome 2026, I am pleased to announce the publication of the first three books in the Perfection Saga series. Navigating the self-publishing landscape has been both challenging and rewarding, and I appreciate the support from readers who follow Indie Writers.
The Perfection Saga is set in the vibrant rock and roll scene of the mid-1970s, focusing on two bands whose dynamics shift when Gina and Trevor’s relationship develops. The series explores their journey through the music industry, the complexities of their personal lives, and the experiences of other band members and their families.
Books one through three—Playing Hard, Playing High, and Playing Rough—offer a compelling mix of emotion and drama. Book four, Playing Dirty, is complete, and work is underway on book five, which is yet to be titled. Upcoming installments will delve into the band’s efforts to overcome adversaries and will introduce significant changes for Gina McNaughton, including themes relevant to women over forty.
As the band achieves greater success, new challenges arise, particularly around recording, touring, and maintaining relevance—issues that are central to Rio Poole’s character. Readers can expect both uplifting and poignant developments as the story unfolds.
I have written additional songs for Playing Dirty and book five, inspired by the narrative and creative ideas that emerge during the writing process. It is my hope that these songs will one day be performed by musicians.
This year, I plan to attend at least four conventions and pursue book signings at romance bookstores. These events provide valuable opportunities to connect with fellow authors and readers, and I look forward to sharing updates as they become available.
